Book Your Otago Peninsula Spot for Breakfast, Brunch & Lunch
Join us Friday to Sunday for fresh, delicious food in the stunning setting of the Otago Peninsula. Fridays are “Locals Day” with “Walk-Ins” & everyone welcome (no bookings possible).
We recommend booking a table for weekends, as we’re limited to 25 guests at a time.
We want to ensure everyone has a chance to be seated, especially if you're making the trip from Dunedin city centre. On weekends, we can accommodate groups of up to 10 guests at a time. For groups/ private functions of more than 10, please contact us directly.
How it works:
• Select a date (we’re open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for Breakfast, Brunch & Lunch). We only take reservations on weekends. Fridays are “Locals Day” with “Walk-Ins” welcome.
• Choose your area. For larger groups (4+), we recommend the “Long Table.”
• Pick your time and click "Next.”
Please note that our seating is shared as we’re limited to numbers.
Long Table: Seats 10. If you're booking for a party of 2, you'll likely share the table with others.
Medium Table: Seats 6. Partial bookings may mean sharing with other guests.
Window Bar: Accommodates 8 and is shared by everyone seated there.
Thank you for being so understanding!
We can’t wait to welcome you to the Farmstore & Kitchen!
A quick heads up: We're booking up fast at the moment.
If you're only seeing one time—or no times—available when trying to book, it means we're fully booked. We recommend booking at least one week in advance right now. Thanks for your understanding!
You're always welcome to swing by and grab a spot outside (we don’t take bookings for those). Takeaways are also available.
Frequently Asked Questions – Augustines of Portobello
We've put together a list of frequently asked questions to help you find the answers you need. On our days off, we’re often in the kitchen preserving our Augustines of Central range. Some days, we’re also spending time as a family with our son Otto. Because of this, we may not be able to respond to emails or phone calls about bookings straight away.
Before reaching out, please take a look through the FAQs below. Chances are, you’ll find what you’re looking for here. Thanks for your patience and support—we truely appreciate it!

Yes, we do — our “Trust the Chef” dinners run occasionally on Friday nights. Sign up to our email list to be the first to know when new dates are released, and you may also spot available Fridays on our booking platform.
Dinner is a three-course set menu at $75 per person, served at 7pm for all guests.
The style is Trust the Chef — meaning you’ll be happily surprised by what Gus creates on the night.Recent feedback:
“We went for Friday dinner last night and it was outstanding from start to finish. Each course was beautifully put together and genuinely delicious — the kind of food where you pause after the first mouthful because it’s so delicious. The service was excellent too: friendly, warm and welcoming from people who truly care about what they do. The place is relaxed with a welcoming atmosphere. It’s a real favourite of ours!” -
We love surprising you here at Augustines of Portobello! Our menu changes weekly, so we don’t upload it online. You can check our Instagram for the latest menu updates.
